IDB acquires the majority of Cenacchi International Srl with Translink acting as the exclusive financial advisor to the sellers

Translink announces the acquisition by Italian Design Brands (IDB), the hub of Italian design in the furniture sector, of Cenacchi International, a well-known brand of high quality designer furniture specializing in the "contract" sector and in particular in the realization of custom furnishings for shops, showrooms, hotels and prestigious homes, with headquarters in Ozzano dell'Emilia (Bologna).

Translink Corporate Finance acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Cenacchi International's shareholders, with a team including Mauro Bussotti (Partner), Matteo Paggi (Associate Partner) and Giovanni Galli (Associate Director).

Italian Design Brands S.p.A. (IDB) was founded in May of 2015 to promote a hub of Italian design of high quality furniture and furnishings.

Private Equity Partners S.p.A. – composed of Fabio Sattin and Giovanni Campolo - Paolo Colonna and the brothers Giovanni and Michele Gervasoni, supported by a select group of high-level private investors, formed Italian Design Brands, a company based in Milan, with the aim of aggregating other excellent companies in the sector, combining substantial financial, strategic and relational forces with solid and consolidated industrial and commercial experience. IDB's first investment transaction was Gervasoni S.p.A., a historic Italian brand that, since the end of the 19th century, has been designing home and contract furniture solutions. The second was in Meridiani Srl, founded in 1996 by Renato Crosti, which continues to be the leading internationally renowned furniture company featuring refined design products and a large textile collection, today synonymous with high quality and timeless elegance.

This latest acquisition, two years after the IDB's establishment, will bring consolidated Group revenues to over 65 million Euros thereby establishing itself as Italy’s hub of high quality design furnishings.

Cenacchi International Srl, is led by Carl Christian Gherardi and Eugenia Cenacchi with the support of Angelo Staffa and Marco Tassinari. In 2016, the company had revenues of over 21 million Euros with very solid margins, exporting over 90% of its production with 33 employees. The company is specialized in the production and installation of custom furnishings for shops, showrooms, hotels and homes around the globe. Cenacchi International Srl is recognized in its own field for the quality of its projects and the high level of technical know-how which seeks to combine craftsmanship - representative of the Italian tradition known around the world - with an industrial approach and organization, that allows it to face, at the same time and in a highly reliable and professional way, projects of different types and complexity, albeit always set in the high end of the market. While being totally Italian, the company exports most of its production, working with some of the most prestigious international architectural studios and having as primary clients fashion and luxury operators and highly selected private individuals for whom it furnishes houses of great prestige.

Following the operation, the current shareholders of Cenacchi International Srl, namely Carl Christian Gherardi, Eugenia Cenacchi, Angelo Staffa and Marco Tassinari will remain shareholders and firmly in charge of the Company, reinvesting into the new corporate vehicle by making available their great experience and knowledge of the industry, both to consolidate and develop the business of Cenacchi International Srl as well as to contribute to the expansion and results of the IDB Group as a whole, with particular emphasis within the "Contract" segment.”
